Every issue of FAIRE is filled with considered words and exceptional visual storytelling, taking readers inside the homes, studios, and minds of artists, makers, and craftspeople all over the world to explore what it means to live creatively.

This Fair Eighth issue features stories about:

  • Stories of Salt & Starlight by Ruth Steadman
  • Apparel designer turned teacher Sarahbeth Larrimore
  • Rebecca Desnos is a British advocate for natural plant dyeing and harnessing nature's solutions for healing and nourishment
  • Cara Wassenberg is a British sculptor, based in West Sussex, whose work is a distillation of her two passions: a love of process and of outdoor wild spaces.
  • Kate Hill is a published author, professional cook, teacher, mentor, coach and a self-described modern elder and Gascon fairy godmother.
  • Old Hope is the studio on the edge of Romney Marsh where artist and printmaker Darren Pilcher works with wax stencils and woodblock printing techniques.
  • Jannik Abel is a Norwegian contemporary artist who moved to a forest in 2017 to make a home and art. Inside their forest atelier, Jannik creates functional objects and artwork using only fallen wood, their hands and hand tools.
  • Jeni Glasgow is an Irish creative, at once a hunter, a gatherer, an assembler, a disassembler, a maker, a curator, a thinker, a sartorialist and a dance.
  • Sarah Espeute is a French artist-designer who embroiders stories of everyday imagery onto antique and vintage linens for her creative brand, Oeuvres Sensibles.
  • Odile Bouscarat is a creative who paints with found objects.
  • Lu Mason is a British self-taught creative who works across many different mediums, from cut paper and recycled fabrics to Perspex and spray paint.
  • Bérengère Desmettre is a writer, visual artist, journalist and photographer living in the countryside outside of Paris.
